Welded in place

This week I hope to get the other side roughed in and welded. This picture shows tying the metal all together.

The tubing that I used was a little thicker than the camaro subframe but still workable.

Last week I cut some of the old frame away, to make way for the permanent fitting of the camaro subframe to the original bumper supports. I used some tubing to close in the frame.

Friday evening we had 3 grandchildren over for the night, so I took our grandson to my garage to show him a little about what I was doing on the truck. You always read articles about the grandson being involved in a rebuild, but I don't think that will happen here. At least not right now. Maybe after the finish paint starts going on.

Today after several weeks of prepping the truck door, I finally finished priming and block sanding. Since most of my cab is roughed in I'm going to move on to some fitting of sheet metal on the front end.
